How to Celebrate Spring

Just a quick break from digging, mulching, and chicken coop constructing to say he proposed to me in the garden and I said yes.

I'm a Greenville, SC native (the Appalachian foothills) who wears the hats of Greenville Master Gardener & Upstate Master Naturalist. I love to write about food and sustainability.

How romantic! What a great way to celebrate Spring! :) Your ring is so pretty-it looks like a flower! I think it might be hard to focus on that chicken coop now. :) I wish much happiness for you, Eliza!

Haha, lucky for us some friends stepped in and helped out with the coop. It’s a hydrangea flower and for my birthday at the end of April he gave me a potted oak leaf hydrangea!

I wish I’d been able to go — it wasn’t in the budget. I’m hoping to get some in the fall (although who am I kidding since I’ll be having a wedding… probably won’t have money for plants then, either). Good reason not to get new native plants, though!
