  • December 8th, 2010Clemson MAT Science Education students (in cooperation with Upstate Forever) presented, “Sustainability Issues in Our Community: Environmental Projects from the Perspective of Future Science Teachers.”
  • November 10th, 2010 — We enjoyed a private tour of our local Ten Thousand Villages store, complete with a taste-testing and private shopping. Employees spoke about their Fair Trade policy and products — many using recycled materials!
  • October 13th, 2010 — Mark  White, Principal Geologist of Cameron Consulting, L.L.C. shared an insider’s perspective about his recent work in Orange Beach, AL regarding the effects of the Deep Horizon oil spill.
  • September 8th, 2010 — Sandra E. Yúdice from Greenville County came to talk about Greenville’s air quality, how we affect it, and what those “ozone warnings” really mean.
  • August 11th, 2010 — Viviane Trama spoke about the current projects of the Greenville Organic Food Organization (GOFO)
  • July 14th, 2010 — Master Beekeeper Steve Genta of the Piedmont Beekeepers Association spoke about bees and their impact on our environment, beekeeping, Colony Collapse Disorder, and the effects of pesticides on bees
  • June 9, 2010 — David Wilson, Chief of the Bureau of Water for SCDHEC, spoke about current issues of interest regarding water in our area
  • May 12, 2020 — James Wilkins from TreesGreenville talked about their organization’s local projects in addition to tree planting and care
  • April 14, 2010 — Greenville Water Commissioner John Tynan spoke about the current state of Greenville’s water and how the Water Board makes decisions regarding it
  • March 10, 2010 — Master Gardener/Naturalist Eliza Holcombe of Appalachian Feet spoke about growing your own food in the upstate
