Now that my feet are wet from hosting How to Find Great Plants, Issue #1, I have a better idea of what I’d like this collection to look like. I want to include everyone’s qualifying submissions and also highlight the best ones with a photo link and review. I’ll be selecting an equal number of “Food” vs. “Ornamental” posts from each month’s submissions to get extra attention.
I’m going to try using inlinkz for the next carnival’s submissions, too. I wasn’t very impressed with the tools available at Blog Carnival.
If you’d like to participate in the next issue simply submit a blog post (written prior to December 31st) featuring a food or ornamental plant you’d recommend to others. You can submit your post well in advance if you’d like, I won’t forget about it. For more details check out the submission guidelines. Here’s the link to submit your posts with:
The next issue will be published on January 3rd, 2011. Everyone who has submitted a qualifying post on or before December 31st, 2010 will be included.

Sounds good Eliza. I will try to get a posting about some of my herbs done before your deadline.

The guidelines are really easy — it just needs to be a post you wrote about a food or ornamental plant you’d recommend to other gardeners.

Most of the memes I have seen, and sometimes joined seem to use Mr Linky. Clay and Limestone’s Wildflower Wednesday. Noelle in Arizona’s end of Month Bouquet.
My green living is substantially lacking in growing what we eat. But we are building our first raised veg bed ;>)

I looked at Mr. Linky and decided to try inlinkz first — but if this doesn’t work out I’ll definitely keep it in mind. Congratulations on your raised bed!

The link to submission guidelines didn’t seem to work, but I have submitted a contribution because I think it is such a great idea – please feel free to exclude it if it is not appropriate, in particular it doesn’t include any guidance as to where to get it, as this would vary so much depending which continent etc…

Thanks for letting me know about the broken link, I think I’ve fixed it now. I’m glad to have your submission! It’s okay not to include a source for the plant — I added those to issue #1 myself, but I’m sure people can look it up if they want to buy a plant.

Hi there! Thanks for hosting this meme – sounds like fun. I have submitted a post from earlier in the fall – it was a Wordless Wednesday post so if it doesn’t have enough info let me know and I’ll choose another.
Thanks for visiting and leaving your nice comment – I appreciate you taking the time!
